It's easy. Two players each have a racket to swing the ball back and forth over a net, and if you miss the ball or hit the net, you lose that round. And then you go again.

Yep, back and forth. You're trying to make the other person miss the ball so they lose the round, but it can be fun to see how long you're able to keep it up too.
